Detroit rapper Veeze has teamed up with Lil Uzi Vert for a remix of his hit track “GOMD”, marking his fourth release in the past 12 months. The song is one of the most popular rap tracks of the year, with 7.5+ streams, and demonstrates how Veeze has captivated his fans and critics with a limited solo discography.

Veeze first gained attention with his viral 2020 single “Law N Order” (20M+ streams), which reinvented the 80s television theme song of the same name. His dynamic charisma, punchy one-liners, and nonchalant, hop-scotch flows quickly gained him a following in the buzzing Detroit scene. In the summer of 2022, Veeze made his official debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single “U-Digg”, featuring Lil Baby and fellow Detroit rapper 42 Dugg. He also played a significant role in Lil Yachty’s mainstream introduction to the Detroit scene, appearing on “Fight Night Round 3” with Babyface Ray and “Don’t Even Bother” with Baby Smoove.

Despite having a small solo catalog, Veeze has already garnered support from heavyweights such as Drake, Future, James Harden, and Lil Baby. In fact, Rolling Stone recently named him one of “11 Rappers Set To Make It Big in 2023”, noting that “Veeze’s slow build is poised to pay off soon enough, and he knows it”. Currently, Veeze is on tour with his longtime friend Babyface Ray for their multi-city ‘Courtesy of the Mob’ tour alongside Shawny Binladen. After performing at his homecoming show in Detroit on May 13th, the duo will take their tour to Europe, with stops in Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, and London.

The “GOMD” remix with Lil Uzi Vert is a testament to Veeze’s star power. Lil Uzi Vert delivers one of his most memorable verses, seamlessly fitting the track’s theme. “Mix green with that purple, I’m trippin’, that be that Barney shit / You got on Dior with a Nike tech, that be that corny shit,” he raps with subdued confidence. With the release of the remix, Veeze is honing in on his woozy metaphors, calculated wordplay, and unique flow, and is poised to take his career to the next level. As Veeze himself said in his breakout hit, “Law N Order”, he always knew that success was going to come, “just like he seen it on The Simpsons”.

Veeze’s highly-anticipated debut album, “Ganger”, is set to release soon, and fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival. With the “GOMD” remix, Veeze has solidified his place in the rap scene and shown that he is a force to be reckoned with.
