Rapper K. Johns Tha General has been one of the most consistent avant-garde rappers that come from LA, and his latest power move shows how looped in he is in the most current developments of music business.

In innovative fashion, Johns – an avid and forward-thinking rapper released his third project Shoot Me Or Salute Me that stems from his harrowing frustrations of being marginalized as a top tier emcee today. But he wont be sobbing it away, he has charged it to the game in form of an NFT project.

The project was accessible on 21st January exclusively on popular NFT marketplace Rarible & OpenSea for 0.015 ETH which culminates into $20. However, only about 200 rare collectible copies were created, meaning that the purchasers will have prestigious ownership rights and can enjoy the privilege of perpetuity as it appreciates in stock.

In a bold practice to sell his music in this format as opposed to the normal Fiat currency, this speaks to the self-confidence K. Johns has cultivated over the years living in Los Angeles, and this is a fragment of his music and brand he hopes he can impart to his listeners, along with financial literacy.

“If fans take anything away from my music I just want them to be the best version of themselves and don’t let nobody tell em otherwise. Whatever it is that you wanna do in life, do it, and make sure you’re doin it with 110% confidence and don’t give up no matter how hard shit gets. We all need a story to tell eventually,” he mentioned to Remixd Mag.

The project is now available on every streaming platform, and features artists such as Shy, MCM Raymond and Weez GB.
