Brickbanshrty is an artist like no other coming out of the music plethora that is Atlanta, GA. Now, most artists hailing from said city tend to have similarities with one another. So, an individual has to find out how they’re supposed to distinguish themselves. Right now, Atlanta is in a phase where artists are not using autotune and are instead sticking to their raw vocals. Brickbanshrty is a prime example of how to execute this sound correctly. For example, his song “##WITCHCRAFT” has an insane beat and the type of vocals mentioned before and is sure to entice the listener for the entirety of the song.
As mentioned above, Brickbanshrty is one of those artists that strays away from autotune. The clarity in his voice is what makes his sound so interesting. In many of his songs, the listener chooses between focusing on how talented a lyricist Brick can be or how mesmerizing the beat is. The vocals come in so sharp and clear that they’re hard to miss, but the beat’s bass is often overpowering, so the listener may get distracted. Either way, combining the two makes for an excellent music-listening experience.
With each drop, Brick is improving. Every song is a step up from the other. For example, when you compare “##WITCHCRAFT” to the last drop, “666′” you’ll notice that Brick can continue his fast, fumbling flow for longer. He’s starting to be able to spit bars for longer, not just longer, but better. He’s developing his vocabulary and articulation of events so that his audience can better understand him while they’re jamming out to his music.
“##WITCHCRAFT” is a song that I have been leaving on repeat. The very start of the song hooks me instantly. The producers, Young Brando and Vilencia, started the song off with a stutter that got my head bobbing from the jump. The bass on the beat has just the right amount of distortion in it, which makes the beat more exciting and engaging.
You can find Brickbanshrty on Instagram here, and you can check out his top 10 songs on Spotify below! So be sure to tap in with Brickbanshrty soon before he blows up!

Hailing from Bay Road, Westmoreland Jamaica – the currently Maine-based crooner Sagod gets vulnerable on his latest cut, “Undecided”.
Released as a Valentines Day dedication, the single emanates themes of romance, assurance, and honesty.
In the visual, a sumptuous Sagod is captured looking mint in a chartreuse-lime green jacket with classic aviator-esque shades you would most probably spot on Gaza rapper and leader, Vybz Kartel.
Meanwhile the apple of his eye is a cinnamon-colored lady embellished in a tight dark dress that seems to infatuate Sagod throughout the music visual saunters around him teasing him. Sagod’s muse embraces her feminine side fully as Sagod tries to entice her to believe in his intentions.
Shot in a studio setup, Sagod goes over his poetic lyrics as he performs some scenes on the directors’ chair, while in others he is seen in different parts of the room trying to have his way. The studio looking intimate with warm colors in some scenes such as beige walls, salmon pillow cases, beneath moody warm lighting is the perfect backdrop for the message. The set designer bringing out an ambient and imaginative palette that works well for the song does their thing equally.
Sagod is ambitious throughout the record as he attempts to convince a love interest that he is what she is missing.
“Baby lately, yeah you got me going crazy, and you got me thinking about what you gave me” he croons on the chorus.
“I got inspired from some females but also myself because I wanted to write a great song” says Sagod who appreciates artists in the lines of “Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Vybz kartel, Movado, Wiz kid, and also Tupac”.
With sprinkles of a rumbling bassline, nimble keys in the melody, and his mid-pitched voice, the stage is set for Sagod to impress.
“I feel like this project is more on a relationship standpoint or couple. I wrote in first person the stages you are in with a relationship. That is why I decided to release the project on Valentine’s Day” he shared.
With it being Women’s History Month, it’s important to highlight and celebrate all the great female rappers who came and paved the way. But at the same time, it’s important to also give our flowers to the women who are currently making history. So on that note, here are 10 female rappers that are making their names known and are clearly destined for greatness.
TiaCorine
It’s one thing to be a one-hit-wonder, but to have the ability to make multiple viral songs over and over again is like doing the impossible. North Carolina native, TiaCorine solidified her spot in the mainstream thanks to her turns-up single, “Freaky T”. The best is yet to come because she hasn’t even peaked yet. With every release, she builds off of it and gets a step closer to being the talk of the town.
500raxx
Out of everyone on this list, 500raxx is probably the closest to stardom. Just last week, this LA native made their Rolling Loud debut and put everyone on notice. I have been following her music for a while now, and I love the strides she has taken. Things really popped off when fellow Cali rapper, Tyga co-signed her and hopped on the remix for her hit single, “Dumptruck”, and she hasn’t looked back since. What I love most about her music is just the energy and passion she brings to every song. I could be having the worst day and her music would instantly reverse my mood.
Big Bratt
I would have never expected 21 Savage to become the business mogul that he is today. And by far one of the best business decisions he ever could’ve made was signing Big Bratt to a joint venture with Metro Boomin’s label Boominati & his label, Slaughter Gang. Representing Chattanooga, TN, she has mastered that southern trap sound that we know and love. Kind of like Glorilla, men and women will appreciate her music and will gravitate to her, because she has real bars and has an authentic personality that she displays in her raps.
AR The Mermaid
It doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the city of Memphis is winning when it comes to rap music. One Memphis artist who’s been recently kicking ass has to be A.R. The Mermaid. She recently inked a deal with 300 Records, so you can expect to see a lot more of her in 2023. Her flow is just immaculate and pairs perfectly with her smooth voice.
Staysie Atoms
The fact that we have two female Memphis rappers on this list that sound completely different, speak levels to how versatile the Memphis rap scene is. I could have took the easy route and selected one of Glorilla’s rap friends, but I rather use my platform to highlight an artist making genre-bending music. Even though Staysie Atoms doesn’t drop as often as you want, she makes it worth your while when she does. To this day, you can catch me faithfully streaming her 2021 breakout project, Thee Hitz. She taps into her Memphis roots as you can hear the influence of Project Pat & Gangsta Boo, but with her own unique/modern twist on it. Nothing that she makes is unoriginal, and she is truly in a lane of her own.
$hyfromdatre
Forget DaBaby, currently, the hardest rapper out of North Carolina has to be $hyfromthetre. When she gets on the mic, there are no gimmicks involved, just straight bars. I love how she doesn’t hold back, and is never afraid to say the unthinkable. Based on her advanced wordplay, quotable bars, and ability to create not one, but two hits confirm she is in the right career path. $hy is criminally underrated and that’s going to change in 2023.
Yummy Pearl
Everyone deserves a second chance but not everyone gets a second chance, especially in this cut-throat music industry. That’s why I commend Yummy Pearl so much, she’s making the most of her second attempt at stardom. She’s been around for a while, as she was the first female rapper ever signed to Quality Control. I wouldn’t call it a comeback either, because her rapping ability has noticeably elevated and she’s showing that she’s built to last in this rap game.
Jiffy Rocket
When it comes to music, the less you have to depend on other people, the more efficient you can be. This seems to be a skill that Houston rapper, Jiffy Rocket, has seemingly mastered. This rising star out of Houston has no problem self-producing her own music. For example, look at her most release, “Earth”. On this hyper-pop/rap-infused song, Jiffy is able to push the boundaries of music, by creating something that sounds like it came from the future and is undeniably original.
Killuminati
I’m not going to act like I’m a long-time fan of Killuminati, but it is dope to see her evolve into the artist she is today. As the “First Lady” of Generation Now, which is home to other stars like Lil Uzi Vert & Jack Harlow, Killuminati had to put in the work to get where she’s at today. Don’t let her short and bubbly stature fool you, she will rip you apart with her sharp bars. Even though she’s been around for some time now, something tells me that 2023 is going to be different, because it feels like she’s even hungrier and has something to prove.
Kenarri
In the eyes of Atlanta, Kenarri (aka The Dragon Queen) can do no wrong. Only a few artists are lucky enough to receive beats from The Playmakers (best known for their production credits on Astroworld & Wunna) and Kenarri is a part of that elite club. To me, she sounds like Travis Scott & Playboi Carti had a baby. I would categorize her music under the sub-genre, “psychedelic trap”, which certainly resonates with younger listeners. It’s only a matter of time til the rest of the world hops on the bandwagon.
