Brickbanshrty is an artist like no other coming out of the music plethora that is Atlanta, GA. Now, most artists hailing from said city tend to have similarities with one another. So, an individual has to find out how they’re supposed to distinguish themselves. Right now, Atlanta is in a phase where artists are not using autotune and are instead sticking to their raw vocals. Brickbanshrty is a prime example of how to execute this sound correctly. For example, his song “##WITCHCRAFT” has an insane beat and the type of vocals mentioned before and is sure to entice the listener for the entirety of the song.
As mentioned above, Brickbanshrty is one of those artists that strays away from autotune. The clarity in his voice is what makes his sound so interesting. In many of his songs, the listener chooses between focusing on how talented a lyricist Brick can be or how mesmerizing the beat is. The vocals come in so sharp and clear that they’re hard to miss, but the beat’s bass is often overpowering, so the listener may get distracted. Either way, combining the two makes for an excellent music-listening experience.
With each drop, Brick is improving. Every song is a step up from the other. For example, when you compare “##WITCHCRAFT” to the last drop, “666′” you’ll notice that Brick can continue his fast, fumbling flow for longer. He’s starting to be able to spit bars for longer, not just longer, but better. He’s developing his vocabulary and articulation of events so that his audience can better understand him while they’re jamming out to his music.
“##WITCHCRAFT” is a song that I have been leaving on repeat. The very start of the song hooks me instantly. The producers, Young Brando and Vilencia, started the song off with a stutter that got my head bobbing from the jump. The bass on the beat has just the right amount of distortion in it, which makes the beat more exciting and engaging.
