ScHoolboy Q shares release date for new album ‘Blue Lips’

ScHoolboy Q is set to make his long awaited return this year. On Thursday, the TDE rapper took to Instagram to make the official announcement of his long awaited new album ‘Blue Lips’ which will arrive on March 1st. Keeping it simple, the announcement read “Blue Lips. MarcH 1st. Link in bio.” This album will serve as Q’s sixth studio album. Additionally, he shared a 37 second trailer.

During the trailer, the camera pans into what’s appears to be the official track list for the project. Each Track is depicted in a graffiti styled display on a wall. The album’s track list features 17 songs. While features have but been revealed. The trailer only show chases the titles of the songs. Track titles include “Smile,” “Love Birds,” “Lost Times,” and “Time Killers” to name a few. Additionally, the trailer has over two million views on Instagram alone proving the excitement of fans. He also received positive comment from other artist including his TDE label mates such as Doechii, Isaiah Rashad,Ab-Soul, and many more. You can watch the trailer below. 

ScHoolboy Q has been absent for half a decade

Moreover, ScHoolboy Q has been absent from music for some time now. His upcoming album, ‘Blue Lips’ is his first project in almost 5 years. In 2019, Q released his album CrasH Talk. The project featured singles such as “Dangerous” featuring Kid Cudi and “Floating” featuring 21 Savage. The album also included features such as 6LACK, YG, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, and Ty Dolla $ign. The album also became Q’s third US Top 10 album on the Billboard Charts.

Furthermore, fans have anticipated his return. His last solo single, “Soccer Dad”, released in 2022. Slowly, Q has hinted at his return throughout the years appearing on several features such as “Gang Signs” by Freddie Gibbs, and “Hooty” by T.F. With just a month away, the wait is finally over for ScHoolboy Q’s official return. The five-time Grammy nominee is set to release the album just before the arrival of spring. Usher is making his return to music while gearing up to headline one of the biggest stages of his career. With less than two weeks away from his highly anticipated Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance, Usher appeared as the most recent guest on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay.” During the episode, Usher shared his excitement for the Super Bowl, career highlights, music news, fatherhood, as well as a few socking details about almost ending up in a group with other musical icons.

During the just over hour long discussion, Shannon asked Usher about any collaborations he turned down in the past. Usher shared how he almost ended up in a group with Diddy, Jay-Z, and Pharrell Williams. “You’re gonna hate me for this one. JAY-Z, Pharrell, Diddy, and me were supposed to be a group,” he said. Shannon appeared shocked as he uttered “That’s Crazy” to the now known revelation. Additionally, Shannon asked why Usher didn’t take the opportunity. “I didn’t say ‘No,’ I didn’t say ‘Yeah.’ I think that we just I think we all got caught up in a moment, he said. “We’re talking about and having secret meetings about it. We were talking about music and how we’re gonna flip it, and the business of it. Somehow, man, we just got distracted, you know what I’m sayin’? And it never happened,”he added. Usher Is gearing up for his “Coming Home” album release 

Moreover, Usher is preparing for another career milestone outside the Super Bowl. His ninth studio album ‘Coming Home,’ releases on February 9th. This is Usher’s first album release in six years. Continently, he will be performing his Super Bowl halftime show set just two days later.
