Megan Thee Stallion is having quiet a monumental week this week. Earlier today, Megan announced her new distribution deal with Warner Music Group. Today, she took to her nearly 32 million Instagram followers with a series of celebratory images announcing the good news. “Thank you GOD.. Hotties today HISSTORY was made !!! Today I signed a distribution deal with my new family @warnermusic where I maintain my INDEPENDENCE as an artist anddd OWN MY MASTERS AND PUBLISHING,” she said. Megan also shares this is the first time in history that the deal has been obtained by an artist under the Warner Music Group Catalog. Additionally, she shared encouragement to upcoming artists while thanking her late mother, whom inspired her to become a rapper. “I hope artist still on the come up or even artists who are already established never get discouraged by all the obstacles that come with this industry! Even with all the odds against me I fought for MYSELF, the hotties fought for me and, @rocnation fought for me!!! I’m forever grateful!!! Let’s REALLY KEEP RUNNING IT UP HOTTIES! Shout out to MAMA HOLLY I know she’s guiding me through all this,” she said.

Megan Thee Stallion has had quite the journey to get to this major milestone. After experiencing a legal battle spanning over a year with her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, the case awarded her to be released from her contract allowing her to become an independent artist. In October, Megan confirmed her independent status via Instagram live when she appeared in a recording studio alongside her frequently collaborating producer LilJuMadeTheBeat. “But I have no label right now,” she said.

Moreover, Megan has made history all week. This past Friday, Megan released her single ‘Hiss’ which quickly began to rise to virality. Additionally, the song dominated the charts. The single earned the biggest weekly streaming debut for a solo female rap song in the US Spotify history surpassing over 10 million streams. Megan is also on track to being number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. If Megan obtains this milestone, ‘Hiss’ will become her first solo number one single.

With just a few days away from the airing of the 66th annual Grammy Awards show, Ice Spice has become nominated for 4 awards. Her nomination categories include “Best Song Written for Visual,” “Best Rap Song,” “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance,” and “Best New Artist.” One of her nominations for her collaboration with Rap veteran, Nicki Minaj, on the song “Barbie World” featured on the Barbie movie soundtrack. The song and visual obtained extreme success as the song’s visual gained over 140 million views on YouTube. This moment serves as a personal milestone for Ice Spice as she has collaborated with one of her proclaimed musical inspirations. Earlier today, Ice Spice’s interview aired on NBC’s ‘The Today Show,’ where she discussed her career highs as well as her gratitude for her career changing co-sign from Nicki Minaj.

During the episode, Journalist Hoda Kotb asks Ice about her feelings towards working with one of her idols. “I did not ever think I would get a feature with her let alone two so I’m so grateful, like.. shout out the queen,” she said. She appeared to be humbled by the reminder of the accomplishment. Ice Spice received her first collaboration with Nick on the remix to her song “Princess Diana,” which references the late princess of Wales Princess Diana. The Detroit heavy hitter takes us home referencing where he grew up with the LP titled ‘Live From The 6.’ Additionally, Vezzo included his upbringing in the album’s rollout by partnering with Detroit’s Department Of Transportation to provide bus rides throughout McNichols, also known as 6 mile. The album ‘Live from the 6,’ includes the singles “Perfect” featuring DaBaby and “Class of 2024.” Both of which he has released visuals for.

The album ‘Live from the six’ continues Vezzo’s extensive catalog as a signed artist under Quality Control Music. The LP includes features from artists such as YTB Fatt, Chuckie CEO, Dababy, and another Detroit front runner, Babyface Ray. Vezzo accompanied the release by releasing the music video for the single ‘Class of 2024.’ Sticking to the theme of the song, the video takes place in a school setting. TiaCorine returns with new EP ‘Almost There,’ and shares new visual “Bonnet”

TiaCorine has made her return with her new EP ‘Almost There.’ The North Carolina native delivered a an 8 track bass heavy project that stays true to her self proclaimed “anime trap” genre. Additionally, the project Includes features from artists such as Key Glock, Zelooperz, and her 2023 XXL freshman classmate, Luh Tyler. Significantly, this project is Tia’s first release under Interscope Records.

TiaCorine began to tease the project earlier this year with the release of her single “Yung Joc” featuring Luh Tyler. Tia has since followed up with a video for her new single “Bonnet.”The music video features Tia playing video game as she the becomes a video game character towards the end of the visual.
