Big Bang Theory is out now on all platforms!
Abanga Etuk, who goes by Bangathemenace, officially released his very first project called Big Bang Theory. The debut EP shows off his talents and put on display his uniquely deep voice. The Houston, Texas-born and raised artist is of Nigerian descent and has plans of building an empire with his music career.
When asked about what ultimately inspired him to dedicate himself to a music career, Abanga responded, “the art of words itself.”
“I love English as a subject, and I love music,” he said. “And seeing how many words that I can intertwine into a tune with a flowing nature just excites me. I love walking all across beats.”
Prior to his debut EP, the independent artist put out a few singles. “Etuk’s Interlude” and “Can’t Be A Menace” were two of his first projects that he released into the world. Now, he’s putting out a full-length project that he’s proud of and wants the world to hear.

What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you?
You can really speak to people through music before you can get them to engage in a thorough conversation, it’s crazy. The newer generation also really needs the right message in their heads. Also why becoming a teacher was always my backup plan. I’m genuinely expired by Black empowerment amongst generations. It’s extremely rare to see older folks put young folks on, or vice versa. But I’m always joyful when I do see it.
Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?
I enjoyed sewing for the longest, but since I’ve taken my music more seriously and working later hours at work, I have not had the time. I also love to travel, and see new territory. It always regenerates me seeing someone else’s livelihood.
Who are some of your main musical influences?
Nicki Minaj, Foxy Brown, Queen Latifah, Mc Lyte, Nas, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, UGK, Houston’s entire music scene old & new school. Andre 3K, Busta Rhymes.
What are some of your music career goals for the future?
I am focused on solidifying a pure fanbase. When you remain loyal and consistently prove your stature, you will only grow that fanbase.
Tell us about the project that you are promoting. What is it about? Is it a single or EP?Also, what is the name of the last project you released?
I just released my first body of work titled Big Bang Theory on October 31 promoting and strategizing on what deserves videos, prices, etc.
What has the response been like to that project?
Genuine love. Receiving love from strangers whom have no biased responses say that they like your music, is a very solidifying feeling.
What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud of and why?
My first two singles “Etuk’s Interlude” and “Can’t Be A Menace” will always be special to me. I also own all rights to Can’t Be A Menace so I am excited about starting my musical catalog.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.
I will be releasing two more singles on New Years day, “Black Man Blues,” and “Day Ones.” I’d like to put as much into my first era as I can. I have already started working on music for the new year.
What message do you hope fans take away from your music?
I want them to instill that confidence in themselves. I also get political every blue moon so I hope they take those instances exactly how I’ve interpreted them.
