Playboi Carti – “H00DBYAIR”

Playboi Carti seemingly pays homage to the streetwear label Hood By Air in his newest single. “H00DBYAIR” finds the Opium founder addressing the people who like to mimic his style. Playboi Carti also reflects on his come-up and details his charm and an out-of-body experience, thanks to a particular vice. In the song, Playboi Carti also reveals that he has a daughter named Eve. The lyrics read, “â²’ was twenty-four when â²’ had lil’ Ⲟnyx/(Ƭhen â²’ had a daughter, â²’ had a daughter too)/Ƭwenty-seven when â²’ had Ꭼve/Ⲛow â²’ can finally sleep.” Sonically, the beat is rooted in trap and contains a range of daunting arrangements. “H00DBYAIR” comes on the heels of Carti’s “2024,” which dropped on Dec. 15. These songs, along with an untitled one, are set to premiere on Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated album, Music.

Lil Tjay – “Last Christmas (feat. Fivio Foreign)”

Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign rap over a sample of Wham! ‘s “Last Christmas” in their recent holiday-inspired tune. Intertwining drill elements with the delightful Christmas single, “Last Christmas” sees Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign detailing how they intend on spoiling their better half. At the same time, the rappers detail how they’ll handle someone who plans on whooing their ladies. Some lyrics that bring the narrative to light are from Fivio Foreign. “I’ll probably shoot him/He thinks he gon’ reach,” he spits. The two New York rappers think back on the beginning stages of their careers too. Lil Tjay spits, “They ain’t believe I was destined to win/So wrong for n***as who thought I would lose/End of the story, don’t gotta conclude.

Connie Diiamond and Remy Ma – “Ghetto and Ratchet (Remy Ma Mix)”

Following her Dave East-enlisted single, “Ghetto and Ratchet (Dave East Mix),” Connie Diiamond has dropped a remix to Ghetto and Ratchet with Remy Ma. In “Ghetto and Ratchet (Remy Ma), the rappers describe the traits and characteristics they possess as women. Similarly, Connie Diiamond speaks on her charm, rapping, “Stuntin’ on n***as that ain’t in my bracket/If you want the cookie, gotta tax it/All of my exes wish I was average/Snap back p***y, got ’em like elastic.” On the other hand, Remy Ma speaks about the kind of man she’s attracted to and her smokin’ physical assets. “I like hood n***as and drug dealers/And gang members with tattoos/With a big blick and a big d**k/And he eat p***y like a vacuum,” Remy Ma spits in her distinctive flow.

Central Cee – “Entrapreneur”

Central Cee explains why most individuals can’t profit off their own businesses via “Entrapreneur.” The distinctive drill beat finds the UK rapper spitting clever rhymes about his humble beginnings, work ethic, his views on relationships, and more. Additionally, Central Cee advises others struggling to start their business. The rapper also highlights his go-getter mentality since the very start. Lyrics like “I sell tees and my darg sell T’s as well, but his ain’t got no design/(One—) One-eighty for the tracksuit, go somewhere else if it’s overpriced/New genеration don’t know how to trap ’cause they all getting high off thеir own supply,” bring the narrative home.

J.I. – “Miss You Tonight”

Despite his efforts to move on, J.I. can’t help but yearn for his ex’s love in “Miss You Tonight.” As the melancholic trap beat commences, J.I. attempts to keep some distance from his former girlfriend. However, the memories they share seem to haunt him, and J.I. can’t help but to want that old thing back. “Miss You Tonight” also finds J.I. dropping transparent lyrics about how this woman has a hold on him. “Every now and then I get a look at reality/I could walk on both my feet/But when I’m with you I be losing my gravities,” J.I. delivers in a melodic flow. In “Miss You Tonight,” J.I. addresses people who didn’t believe in his success as well, rapping, “Y’all counted me out now/Y’all gotta stand on it like the ground we walk on.”

Ghetts – “Twin Sisters (feat. Skrapz)”

Ghetts and Skrapz reflect on their gratitude in their latest opera meets trap single, “Twin Sisters.” Some might even say that “Twin Sisters” slightly samples Mario Winans’ “I Don’t Wanna Know.” While using distinctive flows, Ghetts and Skrapz take pride in their hard work and dedication. By staying focused, the two can “spend their money like it’s never gonna rain.” The song also finds the two UK rappers fighting for their incarcerated friends’ freedom and discussing their views on relationships. “I caught one of my girls some Chanel’s cause she let me use her kitchen/And when we do our thing we don’t kiss cause I don’t know where your lips been,” Skrapz raps. “My ting’s different from the rest, and that’s word to the nipples on your breasts/I beat the p***y up and get dressed, I’m a holler you tomorrow, get some rest.”
