Bobby Hendrixx talks inspiration behind “Party N The Whip”

Bobby Hendrixx from St. Louis, Missouri is an artist to be on the lookout for. He’s based in Los Angeles now and is pursuing his dream of being an artist. He’s well on the way, as his latest single “Party N The Whip,” showcases the good time he likes to have and the general upbeat vibe of his music.

The song is doing well on all platforms and has seen an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences.

“This record was inspired by my love for cars and having a good time,” he said. “It’s like we all have been driving or riding in a car where it’s just a vibe and you’re having a good time with your friends or even by yourself! It’s a party but a safe party.”

“Party N The Whip,” is a breath of fresh air — literally. After coming out of quarantine, Bobby Hendrixx recognized that his audience wanted to get out of the house, so it became his goal to provide an anthem that people could “party” in the car to and turn up.

This song is only the beginning of what Bobby has planned, so be sure to tap in with him on social media to stay tuned to his journey.

We spoke more with Bobby Hendrixx below to learn more about him.

What city are you from/ Where are you based now?

I’m from the St. Louis area. Grew up across the river on the Illinois side in a small town called O’Fallon. Right now, I’m based in LA. I moved out here to pursue my dream about 3 years ago.

What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name? My artist name is Bobby Hendrixx. Barry Hendrix is my real name haha. A good friend of mine started calling me Bobby and it just stuck. I kept the Hendrix and added an extra X as like a variable to the different style of music and emotions I go through, and also with mental health. I also wanted to represent my family and the bloodline being Hendrix. S/o Uncle Jimi.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you? My sound is all over the place. It’s kinda like how my brain works. Sometimes I’m super up and then sometimes I’m super down. Sometimes I’m partying, sometimes I’m alone. My sound comes from a lot of emotions both good and bad so when you hear me you might think it’s wot people on a song when it’s actually me the whole time haha. I love to rap and sing. Grew up with a dad who was a DJ so I grew to love all types and genres of music. From Rap to R&B to rock, shoot I just like to make music that I like!

What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you? Honestly, the main reason I love music is the escape it gives us. It’s the ultimate feel good! This is the same reason I’m passionate in making it because I go through and have been through a lot in my life and I also understand everyone has. Making music gives me a chance to help those people get through tough times whether it be raging, partying, feeling sad or anything. My main goal is to let my fans and listeners know that they’re not alone and I’m here with them!

Who are some of your main musical influences? I grew up off Lil Wayne for sure! He’s always been a musical genius and his ability to make any style of record gave me confidence to get creative with my own music. Nelly, of course. I don’t know anyone who’s from the St. Louis area that Nelly & the St. Lunatics didn’t have an impact on. Them boys put the city on the map and gave new life to a ton of dope new artists from the area! It sucks because there are artists who recently passed away that had a major influence on my alternative sound of music like (Mac Miller, Lil Peep, XXX, Juice) that I wish were still with us. They drive my more emotional music that because of them I’m more comfortable making.

Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting? What inspired this project? “Party N the Whip” is the name of the song/video. This record was inspired by my love for cars and having a good time. It’s like we all have been driving or riding in a car where it’s just a vibe and you’re having a good time with your friends or even by yourself! It’s a party but a safe party.

Date that this project dropped or is set to drop? We dropped the song & video in August and it’s just been growing ever since. It’s really cool that people love the record!

What is this project about in your own words? I wanted to drop this record because it’s like a breath of fresh air from all the quarantine and crazy times we’ve been in over the past year +. “Party N the Whip” is like the feel good record you can listen to anywhere like on your way to work, school, a party, club, and also on your way back but just having fun and turning up. It’s a feel good record for sure! Plus, I love cars so it’s always like a party for me

. What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them. We just dropped a record called “In the Lou” which is a homage to my home area St. Louis. It’s also been growing quick and it just feels good to have a record out that represents where I grew up! The next record I’m dropping is called “DETENTION” and this one is going to be another fun record to say the least. I think a lot of people are gonna like this one especially on TikTok!

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?

No matter what happens, always try and see the joys in life and the bright side of any situation. No matter what your party is, have fun, be safe, and don’t be afraid to be you! Oh yeah, and wear your seatbelt!!
