Cleveland’s 533crmB is primed to be the state’s next star with project ‘Born2B’

The buoyant rising star is trodding on the path to greatness much like predecessors Lebron James & Kid Cudi

Behold, the rapper 533crmB is a name you should never forget.

Cleveland is finally receiving its flowers across different verticals. There’s much to be excited about if you’re from Cleveland, Ohio. A youthful basketball team including All-Star Donovan Mitchell. Wonderman Lebron James just got crowned as the league’s All-Time Leading Scorer. And, music extraordinaire Kid Cudi is releasing films alongside Kenya Barris, morphing into a legend before our very eyes.

The future is bright. Recording and performing artist 533crmB’s music certainly promises that. His last full-length offering Born2B is a “portrayal of what led him to making music” he chats with Remixd Mag.

Born2B is a gem

On the backdrop of melancholic-like chords, tracks like “Graveyard” he reminisces on his start in music. Professing “he can’t lay up because he used to hustle dawn to the dusk”, he is adamant music is his calling and the track bangs responding to the stark declarations he makes with conviction on the song.

533 is an artist that does not dance on the edges of vulnerability. He gets straight to it. On tracks like “3X”, he is able to be as honest lyrically confessing he has trust issues, and even zooms in on his mental state, confidence (make a track it’s gone thump thump thump), and briefly displays a dark side of lacking trust.

Hints of failed relationships are also prevalent on “Nosedive”. “Ice King” is a cut dedicated to his coldness, and his trauma response to trust issues faced in the past. On “NMD” he allows us into his world mentioning vices like drugs and women, meanwhile “Direct” vividly interrogates his life in detail with ominous parts where he mentions “slitting his wrist”.

On more unorthodox numbers, “Inspiration” captures him on an alternative lo-fi sound unveiling his diversity and artistic range.

533crmB on sound and music

“I’d probably describe my sound as Alternative hip hop or alternative pop. In terms of similar artists I’d say along the lines of XXX, Lil Peep & Juice WRLD” 533crmb mentions of his stylistic choice in sound.

533 is a star to watch out for. He may be a newcomer, but his sound feels seasoned and almost finished.

“It’s how I express myself, I’ve always been a writer so the transition to writing and making music has been my way of processing and kind of documenting my life as it has been.”

As you get into the new week, find out more about him through his music. Stream Born2B on every digital streaming platform.
