Concert recap: EarthGang turns up the Observatory

EarthGang took over the Observatory in Santa Ana, CA on Tuesday night as part of their BIODEGHETTABLE tour.

“We are all EarthGang!” shouted the crowd as the final song of the night faded out. In just a short amount of time, EarthGang showcased the best of their catalog as well as their personality and message in a way most artists could only aspire to. The concert was a packed house full of EarthGang fans and was filled with vibrant energy from the performers and crowd throughout the night.

The show started with an opening set from Benji., a Pittsburgh native, and member of EarthGang’s live band. Despite him announcing that it was his first time rocking the mic live in months, he turned up the stage all the same. Next came Mike Dimes, a Texas native with a boasy swag that kept the energy riding high all throughout his set.

Last but not least, EarthGang came out to a thundering applause and did not disappoint. Performing songs from their most recent album Ghetto Gods as well as fan favorites like “Sacrifices” and “Down Bad,” Earth Gang gave the fans a versatile show, switching from conscious soliloquies to stoner anthems and trap head bangers seamlessly. Earth Gang’s two front men, Olu and WowGr8, are both skilled MCs and – combined with a live band and cold DJ – exerted an impressive amount of crowd control and made a small room feel bigger than life. Earth Gang is a must see show live for anyone who likes hip hop and having a good time.

EarthGang exited the stage to the sound of a satisfied crowd, roaring applause, and underground house music (yes really).
