Stars rolled out their tailored Halloween fits

As the return to normalcy continues, Hip Hop once again stole the show with multiple acts marking Halloween festivities this past weekend in memorable fashion. Check out some of our best looks below:

Rihanna’s Homage To Wunna’s Viral Fit

Mega star Rihanna went totally left as always and paid a homage to YSL rapper, Gunna. Styling Rick Owen boots, Rih had a case in pulling off Gunna’s ensemble better than he did, arguably. Wunna who was at the end of the most brutal memes, was given a dress down by banterful keyboard warriors, but seems like fashion killa Rih definitely saw the other side of it spinning the look into one of 2021’s more slimey looks even shouting out the rapper’s highly anticipated DS4 project on the way.

Other formidable looks were Karrueche’s Vamp embodiment, The Weeknd’s perfect Don Corleone custom atelier, Taylor Rooks’ modernized Jackie Brown outfit, Lebron’s spooky Freddy Kreuger prosthetics, among a slew of other hip hop faves of ours, including Tristan Thompson’s hilarious Pop Smoke adulation that made him look more like Big Sean than the former, and Jordyn Woods’ and her man Karl Anthony Towns’ high serving cute haunting couple goals.

JAY-Z adds Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to his resume

Music mogul, entrepreneur, award winning hip hop icon and philanthropist Jay-Z became the latest name from Hip Hop to be inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Joining Tina Turner, The Go-Gos, Foo Fighters, Tony Rundgren & Carole King in this year’s roster, HOV became the seventh rapper to be honored with the highly acclaimed achievement.

The “Only Rapper To Rewrite History Without A Pen” marked his 25th year since releasing his highly revered debut album Reasonable Doubt making him eligible for this year’s nominations by being acknowledged as a music trail blazer and pioneer.

At the star-studded event in Cleveland, the 23 time Grammy award-winning artist was recognized in a video by longtime friend and basketball legend Lebron James, media savant David Letterman, and none other than former POTUS, Barrack Obama.

Comedian Dave Chapelle presented the Marcy projects raised emcee with his award sharing poignant sentiments dedicated to the “Niggas In Paris” hit-maker:

“I’m honored that I got a chance to know you” Chapelle said “You embody Black excellence, how great we can be.”

SOSA’s next stage of evolution is modeling

Chiraq legend Chief Keef is morphing into one of hip hop’s favorite models after modelling for Drake’s OVO, and now Adidas and Kerwin Frost’s collab sees the “Sosa” pop star stamped as the face of the historic partnership.

Sosa has definitely come a long way from being the voice of Chicago drill music, to co-signs from Hip-hops rockstars such as 50Cent & co., to now still being relevant for his ground-breaking viral esque grungy videos such as “Faneto” and “Bitches Love Sosa” – The “300” rapper is a staple in hip hop history and his latest power move being tapped to be a brand ambassador for a company with Adida’ image and market share speaks to the power of his influence, music & cultural standing as a leader in today’s pop cultural realm.

Rolling Loud takes over NYC

Hosted by our very own Tallie Spencer, Hakeem Rowe and Jacques Morel – Citi Field played host to Hip Hop’s premium music festival, Rolling Loud.

Assembling the biggest names in the culture including headliners Travis Scott, J Cole & 50 Cent to seasoned vets such as Q-Tip (who popped out during Wale’s set) and more prominent trap music contemporaries in Roddy Ricch, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Kodak Black, Gunna & more, to elite lyricists Griselda, Action Bronson and a slew of budding stars such as Kay Flock & B Lovee on to Drill icons 22G’z, Rah Swish & Dusty Locane to name a few, Rolling Loud’s three day experience lived up to the hype shining in the freezing New York weather and battering rain – nothing could stop the party as fans moshpit the venue in excitement seeing their stars in action.

Obvious downers included the Fetty Wap arrest, sets being cut short infamously due to strict stage time restrictions, the third stage that had a number of quality artists performing not being broadcast across the three platforms Rollingloud.com, You Tube and Twitch, and the dreadful weather, but generically – the festival will be better in sunny Los Angeles.

Kanye’s Sunday Service returns

Photo: Marilyn Manson, Justin Bieber and Ye

Kanye returned with a Sunday Service concert in LA that was live-streamed on Triller & Fite TV.

In typical Ye fashion, it wasn’t without controversy as social media had a lot to say about the event such as cult allegations being thrown around, the select outfits being polarizing, and some fans even quipped on his eyebrows missing.

Ye who is known for his outlandish fashion choices, stage designs and overboard creative decisions was criticized for mobilizing Marilyn Manson (who is facing a rape charge in court currently), as well as pitting them alongside innocent acts such as Roddy Ricch and Justin Bieber.

Well, all in all, there is always so much happening in the world of Hip Hop simultaneously but these were some of the major events taking place to round up a sensational October and Halloween Weekend.
