Check out our interview with IV4 below!

What city are you from/ Where are you based now?

I’m from St. Louis Missouri, but I’ve moved 24 times. Quoting Dio, I live in the “city of fallen angels” now. Los Angeles California.

What is your artist Name? How did you get your artist name?

My name is IV and that’s the only name I go by. It’s my lucky number and a symbol of everything complete within itself.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

My sound is alternative contemporary. Smooth vocals, heavy 808’s.

What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?

I love music, and I always have. It moves me like nothing else. Not love, or money, or acclimations. Just to sing or create music is who I am. Life itself inspires me. I feel like making music is leaving behind a timestamp or a sort of audio diary that I can share with others. People make their own memories and relationships to the music as well so it’s a way to bring everyone together.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

My main musical influences are my nana and my mom. They used to sing to me every day and encourage me to sing and write music. They are the largest influence I’ve ever had on my career and passion.

Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting? What inspired this project?

My project is called “Get Rich & Cry Trying”. It’s inspired by the mentality of where I am right now. I’m the midwest girl with big city dreams, so it seemed fitting. It’s hard, and it’s a struggle, but I’m making huge strides, and I’m fly asf while I’m doing it. The journey has just begun so it’s some of my favorite songs I’ve made during this process. I’m super excited to share them with everyone.

The date that this project dropped or is set to drop?

The first single is dropping in November! “Stroke” -iv4 ft Jeremih

What is this project about in your own words?

This project is my introduction. However, others interpret it as totally subjective. I’m just letting people know I’m here, I make good music, I work hard, and this is the beginning of something huge.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

I’ve got some insane features coming including Russ, & Tory Lanez. Following “Get Rich & Cry Trying”, is Melanin Monroe.

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and this project?

I hope fans take away a strong message of “anything is possible” from this project. If I can make my dreams happen, so can you. That, and I hope they catch the good ass energy I put into these songs. I got some slow jams in there too, so if y’all make babies to my music, feel free to name them after me.
