Upcoming artist TBooze is paving his own way in the music industry with his unique sound that blends Hip-Hop and EDM.
In a recent interview with REMIXD Magazine, the Niagra Falls, New York-born artist says that he was always influenced by different types of music genres, and makes music based on how he feels.
His passion for creating distinctive and unique music comes from the natural love that he has for it. He got his start as a producer who was making beats, and says that he “always gravitated towards music” and “how it made you move and feel.”
TBooze told REMIXD Mag that wants his music to reinvigorate in fans by keeping his music as real and organic as he can. Some of his influences include T-Pain, Timbaland, Pharrell, Gorillaz, Hudson Mohawke, and Travis Scott. Goals that he has for himself in the near future include being able to headline a nationwide tour and play a concert in Europe.

What city are you from?I’m from Niagara Falls, NY. Some people think there’s only a Canadian side but there is an American side as well. I’m currently based between Buffalo, NY. Your artist name “TBooze” is pretty unique.
How did you get that name? My artist name is “TBooze” a direct abbreviation of my real name. I don’t have some cool backstory to my name or home it came about, I just lucked out by having a cool enough last name. Although my name itself holds weight where I’m from and I’ve turned it into something.
At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? Music and beats have always been something that intrigued me. I used to dance (I know, have to grasp) and I always gravitated towards the music more than the dance and how it made you move and feel. I quickly downloaded and pirated all of the free music programs and sounds I could find, and with help from some friends, we made beats to dance to. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I’d make a beat with a ton of popular vocal samples and such and the same night we’d hold an event and we’d all dance to the beat I just made that day. I quickly gained a following off of my beats in my state and moved on to the artistry once I taught myself the music industry and the ins and outs of being an artist. I’ve always pushed away the idea of being a “rapper” it just felt cliche to me but I loved music. But becoming an artist just made sense after a while. Beats and production are still my heart and soul though.
How has growing up in New York played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today?I’ve always been surrounded by different types of music from all genres. My dad being an old school hip-hop head, and my mom being a rock-and roll-head, I was introduced to a melting pot of sounds. I think that’s why I’m so quick to try new stuff and just make whatever I feel. Some records I want to really rap and spit bars. Others I want to scream, and some, I let the instruments sing.
How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?I’d describe my sound as unremitting, dark trap and hip hop with a sprinkle of deep ambience.
What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?Creative freedom and being able to make people feel something. So many times I’ve had people who I’ve never met say to me, “Yo, your music helped me though my rough relationship.” Or on the opposite side, “Your music is what me and my significant other listen to all day.”
What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you?Performing live and feeling the love of fans is also one of my biggest s inspiration last and rewards for creating music. It’s like you spend so much time tweaking and critiquing these audio files that were once just ideas or mumbles in your head and now you have people jumping up and down to that same audio file and singing along with you.
Tell us about a recent project that you’ve done. What is it about?I would say my single “Secrets to My Grave,” which was executively produced by Jimbo Neutron. It’s a Hip-Hop/EDM mash up record I did. It’s one of my personal favorites to date. The last EP I released was called Free WiFi in 2019, and it was a collection of records I had a big part in producing as well. It was something to hold over my fans for my debut album.
What has the response been like to that project?The response was amazing. I was able to tour off of that EP and gain a lot of new fans and followers from it.
Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?Currently, even with all the madness going on in the world I’m focusing up on my debut album. This will be a collection of my best music and a story of my emotions.
Is there anything that you hope fans take away from your music?I want fans to feel alive after my music. Jump on your bed, start a dance circle at home, turn the car ride into a VIP club. I want fans to feel like they’ve experienced a fragment of me when they listen to my music. I try to keep it as real and organic as I can. I want them to take that feeling with them.
