Megan Thee Stallion is ready to make her full return just in time for “Hot Girl Summer.”Just a few days after the release for her now viral single “Hiss,” Megan has shared her plans to release her album this year. On Tuesday, Megan appeared on Good Morning America revealing her plans to release new music just in time for the summer. “This is gonna be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer,” she said. Additionally, she revealed her plans to go on her own tour for the release. “I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside, doing my own thing during the summer, like, since 2019,” she said.
Megan began teasing the release of this project last year when she revealed she is now an independent artist. After experiencing a legal battle with her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, the case ruled in her favor allowing her to be released from her contract. Following the news, she released her single “Cobra” which she seemingly addressed her mental health alongside her breaking up with the rapper Pardison Fontaine. This wouldn’t be the only time she uses a snake to represent the title of her music.

Moreover, Megan has had a record breaking weekend. This past Friday, Megan released her single “Hiss” after teasing it with an audio hinting at its theme. The songs popularity quickly as she addressed a series of topics. On Monday, Megan became the first female rapper to have multiple solo songs reach #1 on the Global Apple Music singles chart with her singles “Hiss” and “Her.” Additionally,”Hiss” is number one on Spotify surpassing 1.6 million streams within its first four days of its release. The songs music video has also surpassed over 8 million views on YouTube.
Furthermore, fans are continuing to express favor for Megan’s latest single. Staying true to her Texas roots, Megan released a chopped ‘n screwed version of “Hiss.” Additionally, the song’s instrumental has also been made available on streaming platforms.
