Floyd Miles has something special. With his latest EP ‘No Place Like Om’ he offers a unique variety of songs that put his talents as a multi-genre artist on full display.
His music has a sound that uplifts, inspires, and entertains as he puts no limits on the context and sound of his music.
“Music has always come naturally to me,” Miles tells RemixdMag. “It’s one thing in life I’ve never had to force. The world inspires me; it could be anything, a love interest, a friend, a flower. There’s a song in everything.”
The EP ‘No Place Like Om’ [NPLO] is an 8-track project that offers a blend of sounds that range from Afrobeats to R&B and hip-hop notes. During an interview with RemixdMag, Floyd Miles says that he loves a good challenge and the creation of different sounds that went into this project proved to be one for him.
“I hadn’t really created Afrobeats music prior, but I love a challenge,” he said. “NPLO was an opportunity for me to build a new sound and to offer something that people had not heard, or were not used to hearing from me. Naturally, there are still nuances of R&B in my music, but Afrobeats, and the sub-genres within it, gave me the space to have some more fun with the music while sharing an important message with the people.”

My sound is diverse, free-flowing, intentional, and authentic.
What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you?
Music has always come naturally to me. It’s one thing in life I’ve never had to force. The world inspires me; it could be anything, a love interest, a friend, a flower. There’s a song in everything.
Who are some of your main musical influences?
I don’t have musical influences outside of myself.
Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting. What inspired this project?
My most recent project is titled, “No Place Like Om” (NPLO). So many things inspired this project throughout the journey of creating it. I hadn’t really created Afrobeats music prior, but I love a challenge. NPLO was an opportunity for me to build a new sound and to offer something that people had not heard, or were not used to hearing from me. Naturally, there are still nuances of R&B in my music, but Afrobeats, and the subgenres within it, gave me the space to have some more fun with the music while sharing an important message with the people.
Date that this project dropped or is set to drop?

What is this project about in your own words?
Each song on “No Place Like Om” has its own purpose. There isn’t one set message. That’s kind of like asking what life is about—each day has its own lesson and at the end of each day we can step back to analyze things from our perspectives. I want people to listen to the entire EP so they can determine what it means to them.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.
I am already working on the next project, but I plan to push “No Place Like Om” past the limit!
What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?
I want people to enjoy the music and to take away from it what they feel is necessary.
