The best new music from the week of October 31st! It’s New Music Friday and it’s also Halloween! Unlike, other holidays, Halloween is low low-key one of the best holidays for music. Similarly, to Christmas, artists are at each other’s necks to see who can make the most fitting song for the holiday. This week’s edition features spooky releases from Offset, Ken Carson, Brent Faiyaz, and many more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.
New Music Friday Picks
Offset – ‘Haunted By Fame’ (Album)
It’s been almost ten years since Offset & 21 Savage set the world with their surprise Halloween album, ‘Without Warning.’ For that reason alone, there should be lots of excitement for ‘Haunted By Fame’ as it follows the same exact formula. It’s evident that Offset understands how to tap into his inner menace and incorporate it into his sound.
Ken Carson – “yes”
As soon as Halloween approaches, you can almost guarantee that Opium signee, Ken Carson will drop. For the most part, “yes” introduces some new ideas as Ken leans more into his melodic side. For that reason, it’s somewhat poetic that he’s musically turning over a new leaf in his next era post-’AGC.’
Brent Faiyaz – “have to.”
Understandably, fans were extremely heated when Brent Faiyaz recently announced he was going to scrap his album a day before it was released. However, in an attempt to win them over he released “have to” and the results have been mixed. While some appreciate it, a lot of people are not fond of his pitched-up vocals making the anticipation for his next album even more.
R&B Corner
Ye Ali – “She Knows” ft Dende & Amari Noelle
Obviously, it’s a major achievement whenever an artist starts a label, so it’s only right that we congratulate Ye Ali on his newest endeavor. “She Knows” marks his second release under his new imprint, and they are already off to a great start. Not only does this song provide two dope features with Dende & Amari Noelle, but it instantly grabs your attention.

Neila – ‘Aura’ (Album)
Undoubtedly, Atlanta-based R&B artist, Neila is one of my favorite artists within the genre due to her unbound creativity. Her latest body of work highlights her sharp songwriting skills and her hit-making ability. However, if the project included some features, it would instantly be graded on a higher scale.
Omarion – “For War”
Compared to most seasoned R&B acts, Omarion is still one of the most consistent artists we have left. For instance, his latest release, “For War” provides top-tier storytelling and songwriting and is full of heart. Surprisingly, he still got it and he’s even got me excited for his next chapter.
Rapper’s Delight
CEO Trayle – ‘Happy Halloween 7’ (Album)
Without a doubt, it wouldn’t be a proper Halloween without a yearly project from CEO Trayle. ‘HH7’ picks up where the last one left off, continuing his reign of terror. It certainly doesn’t disappoint and packs a punch for 20 tracks.
My Favorite Color – ‘Elmer’ (Album)
Finally, our last spot on New Music Friday goes to Los Angeles-based artist, My Favorite Color. Best known for his viral videos, this genre-defying artist has returned with his sophomore album after a five-year hiatus. Admittedly, you can’t even tell he was on break based on how ambitious his creative approach is. This project truly has a timeless sound and is able to tell a full story explaining his absence.
We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
