His album ‘Lavender’ is a thorough work of art.

Meet James Barmore – the Ypsilanti, Detroit local who is a captivating act tapping into unconventional and uncomfortable topics through his music and art.

He delves deep into self-awakening, spirituality, the dream-world and more audacious subject matter in between that are bound to raise your frequencies and seem potentially fitting for meditation practices such as Yoga.

Post his soothing project Lavender, the genre bending album that gravitates around R&B, Jazz, Neo-soul, Gospel, and other musical elements, James catches up with REMIXD Magazine on an array of issues.

Find out more about his music, muses, and how he got to this point of Nivarna below:

This project was supposed to be released in august of 2020 but I pulled the project because it wasn’t ready, took another year to work on it and released it September 5th of this year.

What is this project about in your own words?

I had a lot I needed to share and was at the start of a great transition in my life of sorts. I wanted to create this project to help others go on their own journey of self-discovery like I had from my last EP in 2018 until now in 2021.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.

Up next, I’m just doing a lot of writing for myself, working on a few projects both musically, and in film as well. I’d say tap in with “2|2 MANY” or” 2|2 MNY” which consists of both myself and my partner Markus Shields. We currently have our single “Finish Him” out now, and more music coming soon.

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?

I hope they take away moreover a feeling of just feeling better overall, or find a point of relaxation and peace. We have enough to stress and worry and be anxious about on a daily basis. let this project be your meditation or self care Sunday.
