KINGMOSTWANTED releases new single, “Cali Lovin,” plus new video coming soon

Following the success of his November 2021 album, Time For The Throne, viral rap star KINGMOSTWANTED is back again with a new single, “Cali Lovin.”

“I’ve been tryna get this on all platforms for my fans, and the wait is over,” KINGMOSTWANTED shared with Remixd Magazine. “They’re gonna love it,” he added.

“Cali Lovin” is KINGMOSTWANTED’S second west coast anthem, the first being piano-led hit, “In My City,” which generated over 18 million streams and put the west-coast rapper on the map after going viral on Tik Tok.

Posting to Instagram Stories early Friday morning, the viral rapper announced “Cali Lovin’s” return to streaming platforms, following several clearance delays that prevented the song from being played.

The track itself highlights KINGMOSTWANTED’S signature west coast flow, but this time around, he takes listeners in a different direction with a newly produced sound. On “Cali Lovin,” the rapper switched from his usual minimally-produced and percussion-heavy beats, to a more melodic and sample-based production style.

As a nod to his west coast roots “Cali Lovin” flips Ice Cube’s iconic “Check Yo Self,” while the rapper playfully spits:

“Weed puffin, Cali lovin’, the music up high, and I’m out here thuggin.”

The track’s sampled sound highlights the main theme of KINGMOSTWANTED’S recently released project, F#ck Yo Samples, which features a flipped collection of several classic hip hop beats. For KINGMOSTWANTED, this display of versatility is not for the sake of novelty, rather it’s simply a part of his rap identity.

“My sound is not just one sound. I can come on almost any beat, which is what makes me different from everyone else.”

“Cali Lovin’s” upbeat vibe arrives just in time for the summer, with an accompanying video set to debut on March 18. In the meantime, the song is now available for streaming on all platforms.
