Jay-Z weighs in, says people should take the $500K instead of having lunch with him

Jay-Z

“Dinner or $500,000? I would not tell you to cut a bad deal.”

The viral video of Jay-Z in an interview with Gayle King has made its way to the social media flood gates. In the video, the Brooklyn rapper gives his opinion on the debate over if he would take $500K or dinner with him. The rapper says, “You gotta take the money. What should I say? You got all that in the music for $10.99. That is a bad idea. Like, take the $500,000, go buy some albums, and listen to the albums. It’s all there.”

Jay was basically insinuating to take the money, because all the wisdom is already in his music. “If you piece together and really listen to the music for the words, for what it is, it’s all there. Everything that I said was going to happen, happened. Everything that I said I wanted to do, I have done, there’s The Blueprint. The album is my life, and my journey is there already.”

$500,000 OR dinner with Jay-Z?

As Revolt reported, on October 16th, Jay-Z was approached by a fan named K Rich. The fan approached the mogul and said, “I’m taking that $500,000. I ain’t taking that dinner. I’m taking that $500,000.” Jay-Z replied and said, “Be good, man.” It is interesting, this topic has made its way on several social media platforms, and a lot of fans claim they would go for dinner with Jay. In recent Instagram comments, one fan wrote, “Bro wasted a very iconic moment with a question Hov didn’t even answer.” Another comment read, “The approach could have been iconic, but the topic threw off the vibes. Just dap the man up and keep the conversation you were excitedly having between you and whoever.” The fans have spoken, and while some would have taken the dinner, many would be happy with the $500k.

So it’s like, I’m already crafted as an artist and a performer because I’m from the arts world and as an educator paying attention to detail. Which is the common denominator. So just really honing in and understanding the landscape of the game.”

D. Moore delivers the perfect “Compromise” on new catchy single

D. Moore

Queens’, NY newcomer, D. Moore does not disappoint! Dubbing his sound “romance rap,” Moore’s latest offering, “Compromise,” blends the old school sound with a new wave of R&B soul. Coming in hot to warm up the winter, “Compromise,” is captivating and revolutionary, giving listeners a modern twist on the classic R&B sound. In doing so, his modern twist on music makes for a great nostalgic nod to the Golden Era sound.

“It’s romance rap. It’s rap that’s romantic. And for me, it’s really talking to the ladies, you know, I wanted to create something that was based in love. And, you know, that’s something that I feel like is missing right now. There’s a lot of rough kind of sounding music, which has its own space, but somebody’s got to lead and say, you know, let’s talk about love a little bit. I wanted to create something that felt universal, where everyone could feel the love in it, and hopefully that could resonate with listeners.”

D. Moore comes with the perfect “Compromise” on new single

On his latest offering, D. Moore’s sound is sleek and seamless, perfectly pairing with the playful yet seductive production. Immediately, the record reveals a catchy melody that causes listeners to stay glued to the music. Moore’s vocals beautifully blend a touch of the old school with something fresh and new. Laced with powerful and romantic lyrics, he highlights the importance of having a relationship that is built on mutual trust and compromise.

Taking the soaring single to new heights, he gets a guest feature by 90’s R&B icon Horace Brown. Perfectly pairing with the structure of the song, Horace’s vocals add that extra touch that makes “Compromise” something uniquely special. Brown’s singing is reminiscent to an era of music where R&B soul was at its peak. His collaboration with D Moore seems to be based on a creative connection that transcends time and music.

The redefining of R&B

In fact, back in 2019, Moore was mentored by Horace Brown, Buddy Wike, and Mr. Cheeks. Since, he has carved out his own lane as he has continued to sharpen his skills. Remaining a force to be reckoned with, he brings a refreshing, vibrant sound that redefines the marriage of Hip Hop and R&B.

“Just a kid from Queens who just loves music and loves the creative space. Took me a while to really live in my truth. I went to college, I work as a teacher and college counselor but I didn’t give up on that dream. And now we’re here so it’s took me a while, but I’m happy to finally be here!”

Nonetheless, his music is a one-of-a-kind blend of artistry, originality, and emotion. Moore is one of the most promising performers of his generation, and his new sultry single “Compromise” proves it. As his new EP is in the works, it’s clear that D. Moore is an artist on rapid rise. So if you like slow jams or songs that capture a feel-good vibe, then press play on “Compromise” here at Remixd Magazine! Also be sure to add to your preferred playlists!

“I recently released my single “Compromise” featuring the illustrious Horace Brown. I also performed at SOBs September 25th, same day as the single’s release, as well. I’ll be releasing my full EP this year, as well as a show that I produced wrote and I created called “Toxic Sensitivity” which I’m in post production with. I’ll be putting that out in the world soon. So you’ll be hearing a lot more of D. Moore moving forward, for sure.

B2K reuinites, but Omarion is noticeably missing

Omarion

Bump.. bump… bump….

Looks like Omarion might’ve gotten bumped out of the group chat about the B2K reunion. For many of us, the early-2000s boy band B2K is a name that holds weight with the era that dominated the music industry at the time. Originally made up of Omarion, J-Boog, Raz-B, and Lil Fizz -the four bandmates captured the hearts and ears of many with their infectious hits, dance moves, and youthful energy. But just like most things in life, all good things come to an end. Throughout their trailblazing career, the group released three albums, two serving as top ten hits, before going their separate ways.

Unfortunately, it appears that the beef between Omarion and the group is ongoing. Bringing it back a bit, in 2019, B2K briefly reunited for the Millennium Tour, which included Ying Yang Twins, Mario, and Ashanti. The tour was a success, with fans flocking to see the group perform hits such as “Bump, Bump, Bump,” “Gots To Be,” and many more. But, the tour’s success was affected by Omarion’s absence during parts of the show. Fans were confused as to why he wasn’t performing alongside his bandmates.

B2K is back, but Omarion isn’t…

Fast forward to 2021, and it appears Omarion is still out of the picture. Recently, Raz, Fizz and J Boog linked up on Instagram, sparking rumors of another reunion. In doing so, fans were quick to notice that Omarion was nowhere to be found. He wasn’t present in any of the photos or captions, forcing fans to speculate about the status of his current standing with the group.

Overall, Omarion’s issues with the group is not new. It dates back to at least 2021, when Omarion expressed frustration with the group’s reunion during a Verzuz battle. Following the performance, he insinuated in an interview that his former bandmates were “glorified backup dancers”. To no surprise, they took to social media to respond and voice their side. Since then, the group has been highlighted in headlines non stop.

The lasting feud between Omarion and the rest of B2K, on the other hand, raises the question: will we ever witness a full B2K reunion, or is the tension between them too much to overcome? Stay locked here at Remixd Magazine to see!

The same day will also see Nicki Minaj arriving with her highly anticipated first album in five years, Pink Friday 2.

Welcome 2 Collegrove

Although Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz’s latest offering “Presha” did raise some eyebrows, fans were more interested in the announcement of their collaborative sequel album, Welcome 2 Collegrove. Their first joint LP arrived back in 2016, serving as a fan favorite so it’s no surprise that the follow up has created a lot of hype. The dominating duo have left memorable marks in music. It continued to cement her position as one of the leading female lyricists in the game. With Pink Friday 2, Nicki has promised a more personal and introspective album. It deals with her struggle with fame and relationships.

Pink Friday 2

Maintaining momentum, she has already released a slew of singles set to arrive from the album. Some of the sizzling singles that she’s showcased so far include: “Super Freaky Girl”, September’s “The Last Time I Saw You”, as well as the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards previewed record “Big Difference” appearing on the album. Because of this, fans are eagerly waiting for her to drop. If the album turns out to be as good as she has promised, it’ll be neck and neck. Nothing can create more buzz than two artists from the same label releasing their sequels on the same day.

It’s a YMCMB Thanksgiving

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz may have a huge following, but Nicki Minaj’s fan base is on another level! Nicki is known for her global fandom, and their loyalty and passion. If the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” rhymer’s fans come out in full force to support her album, it can make a massive impact on the sales. Gucci Mane and T.I. finally squash their beef during ATL concert

Gucci Mane and T.I.

After all these years of having smoke with each other, Gucci Mane and T.I. squash their beef during an Atlanta concert.

After years of a longstanding beef, Gucci Mane and T.I. have finally decided to let go of the feud. The beef originated from a situation that Gucci and Jeezy shared for a while. The differences between the two had begun in 2012 and again it was an issue that involved Jeezy as well. But Gucci and Jeezy resolved their personal issues back in 2020.

During the time the beef was fresh, all three down south rappers were releasing diss tracks against each other. And the three hip hop artists did not hold back during interviews when asked about the other. “No disrespect to Clay but if Tip wants to get into it, he can,” Gucci expressed via Twitter at the time, shortly after releasing a diss track called “Truth.” The diss track was targeting Jeezy at the time but Gucci wasted no time including T.I. and his record label Grand Hustle.

During a radio appearance with Hot 107.9, Tip “T.I.” Harris used that opportunity to clap back at Gucci and said, “Man, I got the money on my mind. I got my sight set on a big sack with a lot of money in it. I’m talking like million-dollar conglomerate type stuff.” Fast forward to six years later, and as confident as he had always been, Gucci claimed that he invented trap music. The comment made by Gucci rubbed T.I. the wrong way and he clapped back.

The project the streets been waiting for!

According to Revolt, on Tuesday October 17th, Gucci Mane debuted his 16th studio project called Breath of Fresh Air. The anticipated project includes features from Lil Baby, J. Cole, Da Baby, Nardo Wick, Roddy Ricch, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, and Young Dolph. Not only did the fans get a new project, but Gucci also surprised the fans with a visual for the opening track on the album “Must Be Me.” The track was produced by J. White and gives fans an insight on his past trials and tribulations he faced.

In addition to the project releasing, later that day, Gucci celebrated by throwing a concert at Tabernacle. Revolt reported that the rapper did not disappoint as he performed with high energy during his set. The Atlanta City Council also awarded him with a proclamation to recognize October 17th as Gucci Mane Day. The evening was filled with so many highlights, as well as surprising the fans by bringing out T.I. to the stage. A post on Gucci’s Instagram story showed the two Atlanta rappers shaking hands and the caption of the post read, “Much respect to Tip.” The project is available on all streaming platforms.

42 Dugg goes jewelry shopping after being released from prison

42 Dugg

After serving 6 months in prison, 42 Dugg is a FREE MAN!

At the height of his career, 42 Dugg went to jail. He got arrested due to not showing up to serve a six-month prison sentence in relation to illegal firearm possession. Detroit News reported in 2022 that his lawyers claimed he was not trying to flee the scene when he was caught. The lawyer also explained that they were trying to appeal in the case and 42 was not sure if he was to be required to show up to court. Long story short, the Detroit rapper pled guilty to failing to show up to court.

However, things are all good now as the rapper has been spotted jewelry shopping with Lil Baby. They went shopping at Jewelry Unlimited where 42 Dugg can be seen eyeing some nice watches.

42 Dugg is HOME!

CMG label head honcho Yo Gotti put 2 million behind any lawyer who can help get 42 Dugg out. As a result of Gotti’s actions, the rapper was officially released on Monday, October 16th from United States Penitentiary in Atlanta. The rapper served 6 months in the penitentiary, and during his incarceration he took to his Instagram to let his fans know his experience. But he later deleted the post.

“Atlanta US Marshalls trying keep me from going home,” 42 Dugg wrote. “I was supposed to be released on October 14th of 2022 last year. They illegally held me without reasoning because they felt my federal judge in Detroit should not have given me a bond. I let that slide, then after I got sentenced one of them told me he not sending me to a prison. He is going to make me do my time in a county jail which is ten times worse. Then he had the nerve to tell me he knows where I live.”

On the day of his release, Complex reported the rapper was picked up by Yo Gotti, Family, and friends. Right after being released, as per his wishes, the rapper wasted no time going to the studio. Also, Yo Gotti and the CMG family are set to hit the road for the Gangsta Art arena tour.
