Read our selection below:

Cardi B – “Like What (Freestyle)”

Returning to the hip-hop scene with braggadocio raps, Cardi B calls out the females “imitating her style” in “Like What (Freestyle).” Production-wise, the “Bongos” rapper’s new single samples Missy Elliott‘s 1999 single, “She’s a B**ch.” While calling out the people who switched up on her, Cardi B also airs out the phonies, internet thugs, and wannabes, making it known that she’s unbothered by their envy. “First, that b***h hate me, then this b***h hate me/And somehow, they link up and they become friends, like, how? Cardi B raps along with, “In my comments, havin’ a d**k suckin’ contest (Contest)/I’m pressure, y’all pressed (Y’all pressed)/Y’all don’t get addressed, y’all’s gettin’ outdressed, look.” Before the song ends, the Bronx rapstress asserts that she’s never taken an L. If she did, the “L only follows YS.”

Monaleo – “Drop the Top (Freestyle)”

Interpolating Fat Pat’sTops Drop,” Monaleo effortlessly glides on the beat with pure braggadocio via “Drop the Top (Freestyle).” Powered by From The Block, the Houston rapstress asserts she’s “Big Leo, heart breaker, ain’t no loving a t**t.” From there, Monaleo delivers rhymes about her charm, accolades, hard work ethic, how she’s steady “balling on these b***hes,” and the ways she humbles overly self-absorbed people.

Lyrics like “B*tch I can put it on wax like a museum/Pull up let him blow me out my socks/Then ‘boom’ leave him/He told me pull up for the check but I ain’t wanna see him/He send me money every week like a per diem” highlight the song’s overall theme.

Li Rye – “Hey Sexyy”

Li Rye’s menacing, bass-heavy trap beat “Hey Sexyy” finds the 1017 signee dropping ruthless bars that address the opps and thirsty women at his beck and call. As the production sounds off, Li Rye asserts that his protection methods will keep him out of harm’s way. The rapper also makes it known that he’s a hot commodity with the ladies. “So lit right now, I’ll call my ex and make that b***h come lick it up/Uh, we got so many sticks in this b***h right now, they can’t f**k with us,” he raps. “To catch all these h*es on my d**k right now, might need a school bus.” In “Heyy Sexyy” Li Rye calls out these same haters who are “on [their] your story dissin’, but in my [his] DM d**k ridin’,” as well. Before the song ends, he shows love to those who hold it down for him and delivers tough talk at his opposing forces.

MVW- “Goofy (feat. Gangsta Boo)”

The late iconic rapper Gangsta Boo implies that she refuses to settle for less than she deserves in the piano-driven MVW-produced jazzy trap offering, “Goofy.” Throughout the single, Gangsta Boo humbly flexes on those who are below her tax bracket. She raps, “Ice s**t chill s**t I ain’t trying to flex/But if you see me out, you better believe I got a check.” Additionally, Lady Boo shows her suitors the extent of her success. Her lavish purchases prove that these people must bear great gifts if they’re trying to impress her. Lyrics like “A material girl in a material world/What the f**k you thought this was/I want them diamond and pearls” showcase the song’s truer meaning.

About his collab with Gangsta Boo and the single, MVW says, “Gangsta Boo was my first mentor in hip hop who unfortunately passed away in 2023. We met in the fall of 2020 and worked closely for nearly a year. The new single Goofy is a memory capsule dedicated to her iconic spirit. This track is part of a forthcoming project centered around female empowerment featuring Gangsta Boo as well as TiaCorine, Anycia, Bktherula, and more.”

Cash Cobain – “Fisherr (feat. BaySwag)”

Cash Cobain and BaySwag deliver doting rhymes about a woman who isn’t like the rest in “Fisherr.” Accompanied by a silky drill meets R&B beat, Cash Cobain details why he’s in awe of his better half. Bayswag also mirrors the song’s theme by explaining his ladies’ extraordinary attributes. Even when the artists don’t see eye-to-eye with their partners, Cash Cobain and BaySwag can’t be upset with them for too long. Lyrics like “Got an attitude, but you bad as s**t, so I ain’t mad at you/And you tatted too, what I got to do to be having you?” bring the narrative home. “Fisherr” ultimately showcases Cash Cobain and BaySwag’s charm and self-assuredness. The sample drill pioneer’s new single follows his largest streaming single, “Dunk Contest.”

 Tago – “D.A.M.N.”

Tago’s 2000s-esque hip-hop cut, “D.A.M.N.,” shows others that hard work really does pay off. As the Dallas MC fluidly delivers optimistic rhymes through avid storytelling, he thinks back on the long days and sleepless nights and gives himself credit for persevering through it all. “God put me through the tested times/Yeah I never failed mine/I arrived just on time for the prize,” Tago spits. As the song continues, Tago’s bars highlight his confidence, how he “drops hits with the grammar,” and why he’s destined to go places. “D.A.M.N.” is an acronym for “Determined and Motivated N***a.” Overall, Tago’s new song inspires the goal chasers to stay the course.

4L JAVI – “Drugs & Cups”

Serving as a highlight off his new EP, 4ORTUNATELY, 4L JAVI’s “Drugs & Cups” is about working on a daily to evolve. Lyrically, the upbeat, spacey trap beat permits 4L JAVI to be vulnerable. As the beat sounds off, the rapper uses a melodic delivery to take accountability for his former faults. Similarly, 4L JAVI details his work ethic and his unwavering confidence. “I’ll probably get my flowers when they throw me in the casket/Only getting active if I’m putting on my jacket,” he spits. “Check the back door/I think the homies tryna get me.” Bars about his charm exude in the single too.

About his new project, 4L JAVI says:

“Within the last couple of years, I’ve felt fortunate. I’m not at this point where I have achieved all of my dreams. But it’s this point in my life right now where I’m living an enjoyable life. This project feels as if you’re looking at my close friend’s story [on Instagram]. And a recurring theme is: I want to be with somebody. But I still want to be outside, and that’s the hard part. I want to be with all these other women, but that one at home is waiting for me, too. That’s what I’ve been dealing with.”
