New Music Friday Picks

Lucky Daye – ALOUD! (Album)

Lucky Daye opens his Warner Records era with ALOUD!, a 15-track album named for the tension between “allowed” and “aloud.” Born from an unexpected sabbatical in Brazil, the project moves between intimate R&B, electronic textures and rock-soul. Leon Thomas returns on “Fly U Out,” Pusha T slides onto “Mouf Say,” and Muni Long and The Paradox join “Knockin.” Longtime collaborator D’Mile is back on production, and the album opens with “Nowhere Fast,” the single that climbed into the Top 10 at R&B radio. “Don’t let anybody silence you or tell you who you’re supposed to be,” Lucky says.

Gucci Mane – Against All Odds (Album)

Gucci Mane returns with Against All Odds, his 18th studio album. The 17-track project arrives almost a year after 2025’s Episodes, the soundtrack that accompanied his memoir, Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man. Summer Walker appears on “Last night in ATL,” Ice Davis joins “Priorities,” and OJ da Juiceman links back up with Gucci on “Lambo pass by.” Zaytoven, J White, Fatboi, Go Grizzly and Jambo handle production, and the album closes with “1017,” named for the label he built.

Fireboy DML – ZUKO! (Album)

Fireboy DML’s fifth album, ZUKO!, arrives as his first full-length since 2024’s Adedamola. Across 13 tracks, the Nigerian star connects Lagos with Kingston and South Africa. Jamaican dancehall star Masicka joins him on “CLAAT!,” while “IMALI” pairs him with South African 3-step front-runners JAZZWRLD and Thukuthela. Lojay shows up on the tropical Afropop cut “GODDESS,” and Judah Earl appears on opener “DEAR FATHER,” a prayer for strength that sets up the album’s themes of faith, vulnerability and perseverance.

Nao – Autumn (Album)

Nao steps out on her own with Autumn, released on her own Little Tokyo Recordings. The London singer made the 10-track project with producer Dave Okumu of The Invisible, returning to the jazz she studied before her R&B breakthrough. Autumn is the first of four season-themed records, and highlights include “Eugene,” an homage to D’Angelo’s Voodoo, and the closer “I Believe In You.” “Autumn and jazz melt together really beautifully,” Nao said.

Aaron Page – Same Page (EP)

Houston R&B singer Aaron Page keeps things smooth on Same Page, a nine-track project built for late nights. Page’s intimate delivery carries the release from opener “Talk Of The Town” through closer “Body,” with Qui joining him on “Moonlight” and Hydra stepping in on “Or What,” an easy entry point into the project. He also keeps his hometown close on “Let’s Go Back To Houston.” It’s one of the week’s R&B releases for listeners looking for a rising voice to add to their rotation.

More New Singles

Friday’s singles included Victony’s “SLICK (Remix)” with Don Toliver and Summer Walker, an Afrobeats crossover that reunites Victony and Toliver after their “Soweto” remix.
