Westmont artist K. John’s Tha General drops “Mask Up” visual

K. Johns Tha General dropped his long-awaited “Mask Up Freestyle” visual off of his latest EP Free Game. It’s a hot new song and sets the tone for how West LA rapper K. Johns Tha General is continuing to come. He’s been going viral on TikTok for his comedic sketches, and he hopes to use that as fuel for promoting his music as well in the near future.

If you are looking for some good music to drive to, pregame to, and everything in between, “Mask Up Freestyle” should definitely be in your rotation to get you hyped up. The Energy-produced beat with K. Johns’ hard-hitting lyrics over it is a match made in heaven. Audiences can only hope to hear the duo together more often.

The visual was shot in Los Angeles where K. Johns is seen shopping on Melrose, and chilling on a sunny day in Los Angeles. The song has a dope melody and vibe to it that is catchy and has a lot of replay value.

We were able to sit down and chop it up with K. Johns Tha General about his new song and visual “Mask Up” and his future plans with his career.

“This b—-h trynna post me on the gram I’ma mask up,” K. Johns Tha General raps in the first 30 seconds of the song.

He said that his inspiration behind the song came from constantly hearing songs made by the producer and liking the sound.

“One night I called up my lil brother who listens to a lot of Detroit music to find out the name of the producer which was energy and made a few freestyles that same night. It was like 4 am,” he said.

On the song, K. Johns sticks to his usual style of West Coast rap and turns the beat into a banger.

“I’m just talking my shit as usual, if you listen close enough you will for sure find some advice.”

K. John Tha General is excited to keep the hype going even more further after his EP and show audiences what’s coming next.

“I intend to keep dropping different content to keep my buzz from TikTok & Instagram reels going.”

The idea of his video was to capture him and his people, living life in LA and their daily activities.

“I wanted to capture a regular day in LA with me and my people,” he said. “On Melrose — in and out of stores we go to a lot.”

No release date yet on K. Johns Tha General’s next project, but he has said he is working on it now and can’t wait for audiences to see his progress.

“Up until now, I’ve only released singles and EP’s,” he said. “This tape will be my best work yet with 10 songs and 5-6 features. I made about 30 songs to choose from. I am also going to release this tape exclusively as an NFT for only 10,000 will be created.”
