My artist name is FBB Cheese and my real name is Charles Jaymes. FBB Cheese began as a childhood name describing my love for money and my hustle at a young age.

I’m from Richmond, CA and I’m currently based in the Bay Area.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career inmusic?

Music is in my blood. My pops was an artist and I’ll always be on. Music is one of the few things I really love in life. The passion for it burns inside me always.

Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining yoursound today? If so, how?

I pride myself on speaking about factual events and things that happen in my life. My journey so far is everything to me, the good and the bad. It represents who I am and I try to translate it through music.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiarwith you?

It’s a soundtrack for hustlers of all kinds. It’s dope and detailed but still raw and unorthodox. It’s just different. It gives you a look inside my mind and takes you on my journey from struggling to success.

What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?

Just the understanding that you have to be all in to be successful, dedication is mandatory. I would feel I did myself a disservice if I didn’t pursue this wholeheartedly.

What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspiresyou?

I’m a new talent with a different way of saying the same old thing is what makes me passionate about music. I’m inspired to tell my story and leave my legacy.

Do you have hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

Cooking fasho. Feeding people is my thing. Being able to express myself through food is just dope to me. We all gotta eat, everybody eats.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, Money Man, Jeezy, J. Cole, Mani Draper, Johnny Cinco, and Drake.

What are some of your music career goals for the future?

Get rich and tell my story. Pass the game down to the next person and watch them do the same.

Tell us about the project that you are promoting. What is it about? is it a single or EP? Also, what is the name of the last project you released?

From the Feet Up, it’s an EP about my life and my destiny. It’s also about the not so bright side of the hustle and just overall great music. Great production. The last project I released was called Sol Food.

The response to this project has been nothing but love. My team is more excited than me at times. My brothers are proud but not surprised. Long overdue.

What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud ofand why?

Sol food, my first solo project. Produced by my little brothers “Sincere” & “Armani DePaul“ I was just in a special place. Hungry and full of passion still going through so much pain in my life at the same time. Losing my pops the same week it dropped and becoming a father all at the same time. it was just special.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.

Finding new talent for my label FBB (Fuck Being Broke). Growing the label and watching my brothers win.
