Molly Santana just had one of her biggest career moments yet on Drake’s ‘Iceman’

The rapper appears in the "Ran To Atlanta" video.

At this point, it feels pretty clear that Molly Santana is moving from underground favorite into full-blown rap star territory.

The Los Angeles artist just landed a feature alongside Future on “Ran To Atlanta,” one of the standout records from Drake’s newly released album Iceman. For an artist who has spent the last year building one of the most distinct aesthetics in rap, the placement feels less random co-sign and more like the industry finally catching up.

Future even shouts her out directly on the track, rapping, “Bring all the freaks to France and skrrt in the Sprinter, they wanna play Molly Santana,” which honestly says a lot about where her name is sitting culturally right now. Molly has become one of those artists whose image, fanbase, and overall world feel bigger than just the music itself.

Molly Is The Moment

The timing also makes sense. She’s coming off a stretch where her momentum has felt impossible to ignore. Last week, she hit the stage at Rolling Loud Miami and brought out North West during her set, creating one of the weekend’s more unexpected viral moments. Next month, she’s also set to perform at Summer Smash Festival before heading into a European run that already includes a sold out London headline date.

What makes Molly interesting right now is that she doesn’t really feel like she’s chasing traditional rap stardom. A lot of her appeal comes from how strange, hyper-stylized, and internet-native her entire presence feels. Her sophomore album Molly and Her Week of Wonders leaned heavily into surrealism and coming-of-age themes, pulling inspiration from the cult Czech film Valerie and Her Week of Wonders while still sounding chaotic enough for underground rap fans.

That balance between experimental aesthetics and actual star power is probably why this Drake and Future collaboration works so well for her. It doesn’t feel like she’s being inserted into the moment. It feels like the moment was already heading toward her.
