New Music Friday Picks

Latto – ‘Big Mama’ (Album)

It was previously rumored that Big Mama would be Latto’s “retirement,” album. However, she’s since walked back those comments admitting that post-partum depression got the best of her. Big Mama sees a star-studded feature list including appearances fom 21 Savage, Glorilla, Sexyy Red, Doja Cat, Wizkid, and more. Throughout 18 tracks, Latto shows her versatility and range. All while exploring a new chapter of motherhood.

Chxrry – ‘U, Me, & My Ego’ (Album)

In the future, Chxrry’s debut album will be remembered as one of the most pivotal moments on her road to stardom. Beyond the surface, she possesses all the elements you want in a pop star. As events progress, her career is certainly in good hands at XO.

Freddie Gibbs – ‘RBT’ (EP)

Time after time, Freddie Gibbs has shown exemplary levels of consistency to still be in his latter years. Reinforcing that notion, ‘RBT’ is another prime example of his career aging like fine wine. Taking that into consideration, he has to be mentioned when discussing elite lyricists in today’s rap.

Future – “Game Time” ft Tyla (Single)

As of today, we are a week away from the 2026 World Cup and the USA’s best treasure, Future put together the official anthem. Given this context, you can expect him to tone down his subject matter, while also still being his raw self. In addition, Tyla joins him and her feature displays her hidden rap skills.

Bossman Dlow – “Motion Party Remix” ft Megan Thee Stallion (Single)

Side by side, Bossman Dlow & Meg suprisingly form a dynamic duo when paired together. Take for example, Bossman Dlow’s summer hit, “Motion Party” that was taken to new heights with Meg on the remix. Picking up where she left off, she was rapping like she had a point to prove.

Syd – “Callin” ft Blu june (Single)

Ultimately, it’s a tough pill to swallow knowing The Internet is done making music, but at least we still have Syd’s music. Another factor to consider, is that she’s getting ready to drop a new album and she sounds rejuvenated based off “Callin.” Furthermore, this four-year looks like it did more good than harm and should have R&B lovers excited.

YG – “GANG BIZNESS” ft paygotti (Single)

Put simply, anytime YG makes an appearance in the summer with new music, you can expect it to be legendary. Laying the groundwork, he released “GANG BIZNESS” with fellow Cali artist, paygotti and they stood on business. Symbolically, the two artists proved they are stronger together than apart, despite being from opposing sides.

Bizzy Crook – “Could Be Worse” ft Leon Thomas (Single)

Finally, our last spot of New Music Friday goes to Bizzy Crook’s latest collaboration with Leon Thomas. Despite their past work together, this may be their best yet. On a deeper level, their chemistry has taken another step and allowed them to maximize their level of vulnerability.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
